Sir Bani Yas

We suprised Mum and Dad with a weekend away. We had loads of jokes about camping in Sharjah. Jack was so excited about the camping. He had thought we had better take Nick and Bindi with us as we would need 4 cars to protect the tents from the camels in the dead of night. Mum and I were a bit mean and we dicussed in great detail the camping trip. So much so that when Jack found out we weren't going camping he was gutted and cried and cried and cried.
The drive took 3 hours from our place and we then caught a ferry across to the island.
Its a small hotel which had a very personal feel to it. We went on an animal safari, relaxed by the pool, walked on the massive sandbags that protect the beach from erosion and had a lovely weekend.
On the animal safari we saw a baby Eland that had just been born. It was great to see how the mother was washing it and the baby was trying so hard to stand. The giraffes were very cool.
We left Jack's snuggle bear there and have finally worked out where he is. Fingers crossed he is being couriered back to us today. Below are a few shots. Great weekend had by all and once again thanks to mum and dad for taking a child each night. It's amazing how many fights it stops.
