The kids were a little unsure of the Camel at first (as was Del), but all were brave and gave it a go. Shaneen was the Camel's name - he was a very gentle very smelly guy.
Jack and Jaime loved the spell in the desert. We had to wash them twice that night - the sand is very fine, and gets into absolutely everything. It was a fantastic day, with scenery that was simply beautiful and so different from anything we have seen before. It was fun explaining to Jack that there are places in the world that, unlike NZ, you don't need to fly for hours to be in a whole different country!

WHOA! Wicked fun in the desert! Its not everyday most people get to say they've been for a ride on a camel. I don't blame Del & the kids, I'd be a bit unsure at first! Looks like so much amazing fun you've all had so far...im very excited to see what ya'll do next!
Wow Jack, you got to ride a camel! We want to do that. That is so cool. It looks a long way up!
that last comment was from your two buddies Erik and Benjamin Dekker. Two very envious boys!

Hi to you all! Great to read of all your adventures while we were in Mooloolaba walking and swimming. You must be pleased that the transition to a new school and culture has gone so well for the children who look to be enjoying everything. Ross and I arrived back in Invercargill yesterday in Roy and Patricia's gorgeous Peugeot after visiting my parents in Dunedin. Both Frank and Francey are OK. The weather has been yuck here in Invercargill according to Roy and Patricia during our absence in the sun! Patrica had a lovely meal for us when we arrived back. Love to you all, Enjoy everything!
